NAME & AGE: Henry Cooldown (30)
CANON & CANON POINT: Post NMH2, after he leaves Travis to his own devices against the final boss battle.
CANON INFORMATION: [wiki link]

PERSONALITY: headcanon bolded
At first glance, Henry is a mild-mannered professional assassin: down-to-earth, polite, relatively intelligent, with a hint of sass. He has an air of haughtiness about him, something he's acquired from studying abroad in the UK and France for long periods of his life although he was raised in Ireland. Family back home call him a Shoneen, an Irishman who imitated English ways since his mannerisms mirrored them more than his Irish counterparts. It's more than likely he was physically born in the United States, but there's no canon proof of where Travis and Henry were born. Strict parents (most likely foster parents) taught him the ways of becoming an assassin- but he learned most of his mannerisms and own style of professionalism when he studied/went to college in the UK , though it's not far-fetched to say that his upbringing helped shape and mold his principles to this day. While his parents were very strict and demanded a certain kind of presentation from him, they weren't completely put-off by his slightly condescending attitude. It was his way of rebelling against his parents, and he holds pride in his successful attempts to develop his own identity.

It was speculated that Henry was in on the killing game with Sylvia in their early years together; A honeymoon stage for them, as morbid and twisted as it may sound to others. He wasn't and still isn't blind to her behaviour, but back then to a 17 year old, it probably seemed like a good way to get quick cash in huge amounts and also grant him some recognition in the assassin biz. He knew her tendency to spend money like it's nothing would require some unsavory methods, but it wasn't so difficult to accept in the beginning. He realized as time went on that he actually did have a conscience, and while still married to Sylvia, he technically went rogue, giving up his #1 spot in the game and leaving it for whoever happened to be next. This shows that despite his grey-area morals, he still has a limit to how much bad he can do, unlike his ex-wife.

While he realizes murdering people is "bad", he actually enjoys his job and is not at all squeamish. It's more due to the fact that assassinations are turned into a spectator's sport where assassins were just killing each other instead of doing their actual jobs. Taking out another assassin isn't wrong per se when the time calls for it, but when it was just assassins against other assassins in a gladiator style death-match over and over again, so what's the point in calling one's self an assassin? One could even say the job works on a "Need-To-Kill" basis, not a wanton parade of thrills and kills. There's a bit of nuance that Henry takes pride in, and he hates what the UAA (United Assassins Association) has turned the profession into.

He keeps his cool most of the time, but like the Irishman he is, has a bit of a temper if provoked enough. Being thrown into an unknown situation against his will (ie. his subconscious, fighting against Mimmy), realizing his wife cheated on him with his twin brother Travis Touchdown, and generally having to deal with wacky shit that he feels is a waste of his time (ie. the boss battle against Jasper Batt Jr). It's funny that he thinks this way since he's kind of a strange character himself. It's probably because he doesn't believe he's as ridiculous as some of the characters that are encountered that he sees himself as better or above them. This shows in his actions, as he does whatever the hell he wants, whether it's blatantly fourth-walling or interfering with Travis's fights or breaking out of the assassin game that he and his ex had set up in the first place, only to enter back in as a secret boss when it's convenient for him. The fact that he's even able to (or allowed, from the game creator's perspective) do any of these things gives him a greater - if false - sense of power, making him come off a bit cocky. He's completely aware of his lack of actual control or power over his life though, which he's come to terms with, and powers through it all with dry humor and violence.

Being reminded of any weaknesses or troubles in his past are very unwelcome, however, something he responds to with bitter resentment or anger. Emotional or physical weakness was something his family looked down upon. If you had a weakness, you either kept it hidden or you overcame it, and this way of thinking is one of the few things that were ingrained into him since childhood. Any reminders of his own weaknesses are rarely elaborated upon, but it's easy to assume that he hates it. Anything involving his relationship with Sylvia and his daughter are touchy subjects, for he doesn't get to see his daughter much. After the divorce between the first and second game, it's likely that Sylvia won custody of their young daughter Jeane. During a cutscene in Henry's subconscious, he's confronted by a rainy scene in front of a house, and while there's absolutely no information regarding this scene whatsoever, it can be one of couple things: the house he grew up in or the house that he, Sylvia, and Jeane lived in, and it dredges up some unpleasant or melancholy emotions in either situation.

He misses his daughter and probably has a hint of regret of doing what he does for a living, possibly because he just wants to settle down and live a normal life as a father, but it's not as if he can just sulk and cling to the past so he covers his weaknesses and deals with it. Mimmy says an interesting thing during their encounter in Henry's subconscious, claiming that he "did not wish to go back [to the conscious world]" and that he called out to her. Mimmy seemed to be a parasite in his mind, an embodiment of his childish desires (she looks like a young anime child with gigantic robot arms) and wanted to keep him in his comatose state because he secretly wishes to stay in the scenery of his old house, but the strength of his willpower to shut down any weaknesses allows him to ignore her tempting offer and eradicates her existence completely.

Travis, being his only living blood, holds a special (if slightly confusing) spot in his heart. They start off as rivals, then as awkward strangers trying to deal with each other, then sorta rival-brothers again. Henry sees himself as the responsible one, who has to steer Travis onto the right path and open his eyes to the ridiculous world around him, and takes it upon himself to exert the older brother role as often as he can. It doesn't help that they're twins. He likes to tease Travis constantly, finding him an easy target for it, but there is still something genuine about the things he does and says. He was even willing to kill Travis to teach him his lessons- and seeing as he had little to no real emotional connection with him in the beginning, it wasn't too hard. If Travis died in a fight against him, he probably wasn't worth being either 1st Rank or his brother to begin with. However in the second game, Henry is rescued from becoming a carbonite statue (yes, like Star Wars) by Travis, which forces him to stick around for the remainder of the game to pay him back. He doesn't like owing people anything, so his way of payback is to kill the next three targets that Travis had to kill. Such a nice big brother, eh?

In conclusion: While Henry is a strong individual with good manners, a solid foundation of principles and occasional homicidal tendencies, he does had a slightly unhealthy method of keeping up his clean-cut image.

COURT ALLIANCE & REASONING:
Garnet: While he isn't power hungry, he values strength very highly. He's always trying to one-up his brother, fight his way out of impossible situations (even of the mind), and he's proud to showcase his strength in ways that are different from just in the physical sense. He's not exactly very big, or muscular, but his strengths lie in his cunning and wit. Well aware of what he lacks, he does all he can to make up for it in different ways.
Angelite: He is very much a busy body, a working man, who spends most of his time on the job than anything. So if he experiences stagnation in any form, he gets incredibly antsy. He's always looking for things to keep his mind and body busy, loves the rush and thrill of the kill, and the aspect of "killing for the sake of killing" sort of fits him to a T. He's not a revolutionary of any kind, as he sort of rolls with the punches when it comes to political stances, nor does he have any particular sympathy for the oppressed (he doesn't really have an opinion on anything that doesn't directly effect him) but he's very much a neutral observer type. He likes to see how things pan out, and if he has a hand in guiding that change, then it's all the more fascinating to him.

ABILITIES:
Swordsmanship, athletics/acrobatics- he's very light on his feet, powerful, and graceful in his fighting style. My headcanon is he has his roots in fencing, and over the years he gradually developed his own style after learning different swordsmanship styles. Inhuman speed and strength, like any video game assassin. He's not fast/strong to the point of being overpowered, though, but definitely superhuman. He is capable of performing Meteor Moves, and crashing through the window of an office at 30-stories, that ridiculous sort of thing.

INVENTORY:
His clothes- white french-cuffed dress shirt, cuff links, black tie secured by a silver skull-shaped tie pin, dark gray vest, a small chain attached to his vest button and to something sitting inside his vest pocket (could be a watch or a locket of sorts), gray slacks, ornate belt, two long chains attached to his belt loops on the side and connected in the back onto one loop, black knee-high lace-up boots, black leather gloves, and a long gray duster.

His cross saber- a metallic handle that can be manually turned on/off with a switch, has a fail-safe mechanism that turns the saber off automatically when not in his hand. The guard is only apparent when turned on, creating a cross-shaped barrier of lasers.

Things he carries in his pockets are probably his cellphone, wallet, and a pack of cigarettes.

[ The usually even-temped assassin with a voice that can range from a flat and uninterested tone to a more airy and intelligent brogue is currently irritated and a bit dour. There's a lot of things Henry can put up with, and adjust to, but there's just one thing he cannot be comfortable without. ]

With the unfortunate loss of a technological aspect to this environment as a whole, I've found myself in a position that I have never been in before. Certain measures can be taken, for this I'm bloody sure, and while it pains me greatly to resort to after asking for such a request...

[ A suffering sigh, slightly over-dramatic considering the none-too-dire nature of what is about to come out next: ]

...I am in need of a new sword. Perhaps a spada da lato would suffice. Proper direction to a network or group or...guild [ The world almost sounds disdainful, like a closet nerd who doesn't wish to be outed being forced to play DnD and use their terminology ], I suppose, of blacksmiths or swordsmen would be most helpful.

conrad a.
A vampire I have unexpectedly befriended, mostly due to curiosity. He probably doesn't see me as a particularly friendly party, considering what I have put him through, however...
ryoji m.
Despite his formidable combat abilities and his incredible lifespan, he's still a child at heart. A bit of a worrier.
arthur k.
Drinking partner. His ability to hold his liquor is nothing to shake a stick at, plus his sense of humour is something I can relate to/enjoy. Apparently a humanoid manifestation of the United Kingdom.
motonari m.
A scholar and fighter of great respect, just from after being in his presence. Together we've braved a digital wasteland, discussed Monad matters in length, and attended an aquarium field trip.
roxas
A humanoid AI type that asks an endless amount of questions. Overall likable and easy to manage. Teaching him to say 'shite' was the highlight of our interactions.
madoka k.
A lass who means well, but we keep meeting under very awkward circumstances.
kyouko s.
Sassy lass with an enthusiasm for food.
gintoki s.
Only just met, but we've already shared a few drinks and spent a day on a suspicious cruise. An odd duck, but there seems to be more than meets the eye.
souji o.
While his strength and skill are commendable, the same cannot be said for his personality. Childish, petty, and easily jealous.
raine s.
Responsible and smart. We haven't interacted much beyond the network. We spoke of Earth holidays in some detail.
genis s.
A young lad, Raine's younger brother. Spoken only a couple times. Seemed to be worried about my reckless behaviour.
gou m.
A sweet but fearless lass. We were forced to go on a pleasant date at a coffee shop.
takakage k.
Well-informed strategist that can use water type magic, from what I can tell. He has an unpleasant first impression of myself, but he has a knack for keeping his bias from showing.
hajime s.
Friend/partner of Souji's, but much more pleasant. A strange conversation involving a very detailed step-by-step instruction of making a sandwich and toasters.
sui-feng
Not much I know about her, but I do know she may be someone to keep an eye out for. Dangerous, but not exactly a threat at the moment.
aziraphale
A pleasant man I met on the "cruise". Appears to be a bit of a bookworm. Fancies wine.
hanbei t.
A young man I accompanied on a trip to the aquarium with Motonari. Seems to be a tactician/strategist, judging by his choice of words during conversation. Could be wrong.
hijikata t.
A rather serious fellow I met at the "dojo", but enjoys his smokes and drinks. He seems to find satisfaction in enforcing rules. Perhaps used to be an officer?

questions & crit welcome

I'm always open to questions and criticisms of my characters. As I tend to gravitate towards side characters who bring up more questions than answers, it's only natural that there will be discrepencies, oddities, and things that may not make sense straight away.

CHARACTER

NAME: Henry Cooldown
CANON: No More Heroes
CANON-POINT: Post-NMH2

DOSSIER

HISTORY: you're a disgrace

WHAT ARE YOUR CHARACTER'S STRENGTHS?:
As his last name entails, he's a master of keeping his cool when it matters the most. Perhaps it has something to do with his lifestyle as an assassin, or maybe his role as a foil to a hot-blooded protagonist is what compels him, but whatever it is, he's extremely level-headed. Perhaps to a fault. Sometimes he seems too pleasant in the face of danger. His adaptability to any situation, to steer any suspicious questions about his personal life and occupation away from him, are also tools at his disposal as he talks a lot about himself, and yet reveals very little. Putting on a guise of normalcy to live among the non-murdering folk comes almost naturally to him, but even he's not so foolish to think that the guise will last for long. He keeps his interactions brief, and dances around touchy subjects, but all with a practiced grace of a professional liar. He almost seems normal and he almost seems to get away with it.

WHAT ARE YOUR CHARACTER'S WEAKNESSES?:
That being said, he's also very bad at opening up to others and being completely genuine about himself...at least, to most people. It might not be very apparent in the game since his interactions are mostly with Travis, who he knows to be his only living blood relative. He's only human, so there are instances where he does let his guard down. Usually at the worst moments, it seems, as something obviously distracted him long enough to get his ass handed to by an opponent he had no problems facing in the first game (granted, the first time he killed the assassin Letz Shake was a surprise attack from above, sort of a cheap shot). He's prideful, and cares a lot about his image and appearance, so there's a lot of things he doesn't allow himself to associate with when it comes to his overall physical presentation. Whether it's something as deep as how strong and put-together he wants to appear in front of others (and his twin brother) even when he's not feeling it, or as shallow as looking as bad-ass as possible when fighting a boss that gets on your level, he stakes a lot on his appearances.

WHAT EVENTS OR CIRCUMSTANCES IN YOUR CHARACTER'S PAST HAVE IMPACTED THEM THE MOST?:
★ɪᴛ's ʙᴇᴇɴ ᴛᴡᴇɴᴛʏ-sᴇᴠᴇɴ ʏᴇᴀʀs...★
Note: No More Heroes is extremely meta, and constantly breaks the fourth wall. So in this case, Henry realizes that meeting his twin brother for the first time in 27 years is very important to him as a character. He's the mysterious foil, and he realizes his place, the role he plays in his brother's story (life). His opposite, yet they're very much the same. Despite his obvious disappointment in realizing Travis doesn't know who he is, he still presses on... even if it means dueling him at the last minute of the game.

★sᴛᴏɴᴇ ᴄᴏʟᴅ★
During the off-screen second fight (NMH2) against Dr. Letz Shake, Henry is defeated and entombed in carbonite a la Han Solo. Nearing death by suffocation, Travis inadvertently rescues him (he calls Henry "collateral damage" how rude) and is kinda forced to let Henry recover in his room from the thawing since Sylvia had dumped him there. He awakens to find that Travis had basically taken care of him... like, uh, taking his triple combo shirt/vest/tie/possible undershirt off? Probably from all the fever sweat, yeah. That'd be one more problem for Travis to deal with if Henry woke up sick and then remained stuck in Travis's care even longer. YEP. :') ANyway, Henry finds this to be his turning point, saying there's no honor in being rescued by his Baby Brother. This is where his issue with appearances kick in, as he proceeds to leave Travis a long voice message about how he did him a good ol' solid by killing off three of his next targets and taunting him. Ah yes, classic Henry.

★ᴏᴛʜᴇʀs ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴅɪᴅɴ'ᴛ ᴍᴀᴋᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄᴜᴛ★
Sylvia, the woman that helps Travis get into the United Assassin's Association in the first place, is Henry's ex-wife as we learn at the very end of the first game. They divorce some time after the first game and before the second, which is three years later, so somewhere within the three years they were divorced. Henry was pretty distraught when Travis insinuated that Sylvia was unfaithful (does that kiss in the cut-scene after killing Harvey count?), so maybe this came as a shock to him? Or maybe it was inevitable? Maybe his state of mind had something to do with how he got defeated by such a lame-brain (heh) boss? We'll never know, which is why I don't necessarily feel like it applies to this section but felt it was worth describing anyway.

His fight with Mimmy also seems to shed quite a bit of light onto Henry's state of mind, but the cut-scene is so infuriatingly vague that it doesn't offer much in terms of his characterization. It's all speculation/extrapolation/head-canon at this point.

WHAT MOTIVATES YOUR CHARACTER?:
At first glance, it looks like Henry is more or less motivated by challenging Travis for the invisible thrown, the spot of #1. Then as the end of the first game approaches and the True Ending is revealed, Henry is clearly disappointed in Travis's scaling of the ranks and how he treats the lives he's taken. So, perhaps it's a familial drive to make Travis into a better person... or a more passion-motivated drive to make Travis a better assassin. It's hard to say, exactly. There's little evidence as to why Henry does what he does, but we can only assume he does it because he's his twin brother. There's always a special bond between siblings, even if they're still basically strangers to one another. Especially twin siblings.

Another possibility is that Henry is just bored and restless. He also has a daughter, though it's not explicitly mentioned as such. She's a small blonde child, who appears at the end of the NMH1's credits with Sylvia, looking up at a picture of Travis and Henry together. Whether she influences any of his actions is pure speculation, but I feel it's also worth mentioning.

Oh, and money is also a great motivator. He kills for that coin. 👌

WHAT IMPRESSION DO OTHERS TEND TO HAVE OF YOUR CHARACTER?:
As he puts up an impressive and aloof front, most characters think he's either extremely suave and classy, or a huge jerk. He does act a little stuck-up. It's probably that air of European superiority. Travis, for example, thought he was a dick, hence the nickname Mister Sir Henry Motherfucker.

IN WHAT WAYS DOES THAT IMPRESSION DIFFER FROM WHO YOUR CHARACTER REALLY IS?:
They're subtle differences for the most part, but he's a thrill junkie with a passion for the kill, so despite being quite suave, murder is hardly classy. The second part is pretty much true. He can be a dick.

HOW DOES YOUR CHARACTER HANDLE CRISIS OR ADVERSITY?:
With supposed ease. His ability to stay calm and focused during the most stressful of situations come in handy, even when facing against great odds. Ever since that fight against a prepubescent anime girl with robot arms in his subconscious (that might've possibly had real-life consequences) as his physical body is shivering in bed, not much phases him. He's both an instigator and passive fighter when needed and reacts accordingly, and although he's more active in his approach, he understands the benefits of waiting for the right time to strike.

WHICH 5 THINGS WILL YOUR CHARACTER REMEMBER UPON ARRIVAL, AND WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THEM?:
★ He will remember that he has an estranged twin brother named Travis (but not as an assassin), and that he'd met him for the first time when they were 27 (they're currently 30 years old). Travis's appearance in his life is still extremely new, and to have that stripped away makes him a Stranger. Which makes Henry more aloof and reserved around him. While that's not bad at all in the least in terms of characterization, it's not very fun for me. As for not remembering Travis's occupation (and in turn, his own), it makes for a subtle difference in how Henry acts/reacts around non-murdering folks VS the murder-biz folks.

★ He'll remember the time Travis tended to him after having a near-death experience. Even if the bloke was crass about it. It's one of their first baby steps towards acknowledging each other as family rather than straight-up rivals.

★ He had a wife and kid, but they divorced after ten years of marriage. She has custody of the child. This makes it so that if she is ever applied for in this game, it would still make sense and integrate easily into the game. I like the added family angst, and it's also funny that most people don't expect him to be a father. Albeit a shitty one.

★ At one point, he helped Travis out of a jam during a big fight. The details are fuzzy (OOC-wise, it's just such a bizarre situation that trying to justify what'd happened during that fight would be like trying to rationalize a weird dream).

★ He remembers training with a light saber for a good chunk of his life because he's a dweeb. He doesn't remember the real reasoning behind it, just that he really liked the aesthetic of it and was fond of swordsmanship.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU FEEL WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER?:
He also had a half-sister named Jeane (also the name of his daughter... coincidence?), but she's killed in the first game by Travis. It's unknown whether Henry knew about her relation to him. Their family is kinda messed up.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, & PHYSICAL WEAKNESSES:
Henry has exceptional skill with the light saber, and enhanced strength and durability (though this is seen as pretty normal in their canon). He doesn't appear to have any physical weaknesses, unless I assume that being nearly killed in carbonite has made him very claustrophobic. That's just me making stuff up, though.

INVENTORY:
Items on his person:
(1) cross saber
(1) cellphone

Items not on his person:
(1) wallet
(1) pack of cigarettes
(1) lighter

CHARACTER
NAME: Henry Cooldown
CANON: No More Heroes
AGE: 30
CANON POINT: Post-NMH2, after he leaves Travis
HISTORY: it's kinda short

PERSONALITY:

Anyone who's had the pleasure of meeting Henry while not being on his to-kill list would claim that he's a mild-mannered, polite, and somewhat sassy man. During first impressions, nothing specific jumps out at them about him, despite being relatively handsome and well-dressed. The most plain-faced Caucasian man in his early 30's? The perfect assassin.

As he puts up an impressive and aloof front, some characters would think he's either charming or a jerk sooo he kinda covers all the bases. Travis, for example, thought he was a dick for kill-stealing (a running gag), hence the nickname Mister Sir Henry Motherfucker. His ability to stay calm and focused during the most stressful of situations come in handy, even when facing against great odds. Ever since that fight against a possibly imaginary prepubescent anime girl with robotic arms attached to her backpack in his subconscious (that might've had real-life consequences) as his physical body shivered in bed, not much phases him. He's both an instigator and passive fighter when needed and reacts accordingly, and although he's more active in his approach, he understands the benefits of waiting for the right time to strike.

His disguise of a personality is one of his greatest weapons besides his actual literal weapon, which we'll get to later, as he makes himself to be as unassuming and 'normal' to everyone around him. While in the wacky world of No More Heroes, his occupation as an assassin while surrounded by other assassins isn't something he bothers to keep under wraps, he does keep up this normal persona around the general population. Eventually the city of Santa Destroy does turn "assassination games" in to a spectator sport of some kind thus numbing the ridiculousness of it all to the general public, but Henry wouldn't lump himself in with that lot. At least, not anymore.

His adaptability to any situation and to steer any suspicious questions about his personal life and occupation away from him are also tools at his disposal as he talks a lot about himself, yet somehow manages to reveal very little. Putting on a guise of normalcy to live among the non-murdering folk comes almost naturally to him, but even he's not so foolish to think that the guise will last for long. He's prideful, and cares a lot about his image and appearance, so there's a lot of things he doesn't allow himself to associate with when it comes to his overall physical presentation. Whether it's something deep as how strong and put-together he wants to appear in front of others, or as shallow as looking as bad-ass as possible when fighting a boss that gets on your level, he stakes a lot on his appearances.

There's little evidence as to why Henry does what he does, but we can only assume he does it because he's his twin brother. There's always that special bond between siblings (for better or for worse), even if they're still basically strangers to one another. Especially twin siblings.

Another possibility is that Henry is just bored and restless. As a guy that seems to jump head-first into dangerous situations, it's not a stretch to assume he's a thrill junkie. He also has a daughter, though it's not explicitly mentioned as such. She's a small blonde child, who appears at the end of the first No More Heroes's credits with Sylvia, looking up at a picture of Travis and Henry together. Whether she influences any of his actions is pure speculation, but I feel it's also worth mentioning. He's not the type to talk about his personal life so openly, so it would take a great amount of prying to get that information out of him voluntarily.

Oh, and money is also a great motivator. He kills for that coin.

POWERS:
SWORDSMANSHIP: His skill with the blade is very advanced, and he uses light sabers exclusively. Cross Sword (or the nearly identical Vosmir), to be exact. Maybe he's just a huge nerd. Judging by what he claims in the first game (meeting/marrying Sylvia when they were in college) he possibly started murdering people for money around that time. Around the age of 16-17, he was most likely already an assassin. By the time he reached adulthood, his technique was very refined and stylized as he had years to hone his skill.

HIGH AGILITY/STRENGTH/STAMINA: He's very light on his feet, powerful, and graceful in his fighting style. Inhuman speed and strength, like any video game assassin. He's not fast/strong to the point of being overly powerful, but definitely way above average human. He is capable of performing ridiculous Meteor Moves, crashing through windows of skyscrapers at least 30 stories high, plummeting down from the sky at an undetermined height, etc. That ridiculous sort of thing.

He also has a ridiculous amount of health and/or stamina, making him very difficult to kill. For example, as the secret ending boss in NMH1, even after Travis depletes his entire health bar, Henry is hardly breaking a sweat, much less dead or dying.

HOW DID YOUR CHARACTER JOIN COST?
It's probably best he doesn't remember. He's not easily coerced into doing anything, and he doesn't care enough about changing history for the good of whatever-kind to throw his life away at the drop of a hat. But...in the light of how NMH2 ended, he could've easily fucked off somewhere to do a whole bunch of shady things. Joining COST probably being one of them. If he has one item that he could bring, it would definitely be his Cross Sword.

Pretty slow lately, due to full-time school schedule (Mon~Fri, 8am to 12pm) and work on Mon, Wed, and Sundays at night. I can boomerang during the small gap between Thurs and Sat sporadically, but lately I've been keeping my RP load light so that I don't have to backtag so much.
RP Style:
I generally tag in present tense, but if I'm tagging into someone else's post/thread, I follow the OP's style. Brackets, prose, they're all good.
Backtagging:
Backtags and boomerangs are both welcome. I'm good for all of em.

RP preferences:
I like to plan and improvise, it really depends on the subject and/or if there's a specific CR development that we want to work on. When it comes to threading smut, I like to plan a little beforehand, just so I know how to make my characters react, what actions to take, etc. Henry thinks too much, I'm sorry in advance. I've been cutting back on monologues though because of trying to manage my time better (I used to take hours on a tag), so they won't be as long as they used to be.
Language style:
Dirtier the better, but I guess that depends on the character. Henry is pretty in-between, so it could be dirty or flowery.
Underage, xeno/non-human or other unusual characters?:
Generally no (unless somehow the cr presents itself, etc), yes, yes.
Anything else:
I can get pretty enthusiastic with kinks and stuff, so just be sure to let me know stuff you wanna avoid. I'm flexible and chill with almost literally anything though.

CHARACTER PREFERENCES
THE CLEAN(ISH) SECTION

Full name:
Henry Cooldown
Age:
31*
Birthdate:
Somewhere between may22~june21*
Zodiac sign:
Gemini*

* headcanon

Height:
6'
Weight:
160-170 lbs.
Build:
Lean and athletic build. His clothing makes him seem slimmer than he is.
Appearance:
Sassy classy man with a small ass
Body hair:
He has light leg, arm, and pubic hair, but keeps himself generally trimmed and neat. He's not particularly hairy, so even if he doesn't groom it doesn't get very unruly. Not prone to growing much facial hair, either, so any stray patches of stubble that manage to grow through are shaved off every so often.
Scent:
Neutral, fresh/refreshing scents. Anything similar to Giorgio Armani's "Acqua di Gio" comes to mind. If you've got super keen smell or something, you might get hints of blood and that smell of electricity.

Clothes:
Suits, three-piece suits, waistcoats, fitted clothing, formal wear. Button down shirts, slacks, and a pair of plain oxfords is considered casual wear. Different occasions call for different attires- exercising, going out, casual, etc. He's very classic fashion-conscience.
Scars:
Old scars on his hands which are usually covered by his black leather gloves.
Piercings:
None
Tattoos:
None
Other bodily markings:
None
Other notable physical details:
He purposely fashions himself in a non-impressionable way despite his nice clothing. He's dapper and formal in attire, but nothing about his features jumps out at you if you were to run into him on the streets. His Irish accent might be the most memorable thing about him if you talked to him. Once you get to know him and maybe even fight him, he proves himself to be quite memorable.

Current status:
Elite
Feelings on said status:
His opinion on his status hasn't really changed much, but he prefers it much more than being a mongrel. He's a "take advantage of your situation" kind of guy. He still sympathizes and feigns concern, but he doesn't particularly care. It's just not his problem at the moment.
Residence:
Eos tower, floor 542. No roommates.
Occupation:
Previously worked under the scarta, until Claudia disappeared. She came back, but then disappeared again, so he's not doing a lot of kill jobs. Currently volunteering at Balls of Steel as an office assistant/secretary/receptionist. He's also working with Mary as a sort of double agent, giving her information in return for whatever she has to offer. Mostly sex among other things.

Vices of choice:
Casual smoking, drinks frequently (whiskey, bourbon, vodka drinks are his favorites). In Tanagura, casual sex is added to the list.
Hygienic routine:
He showers every other day, being very thorough with his hygiene and appearance. Shaves his face when needed.
Other daily habits:
He wakes up early, gets cleaned up, dressed, and ready to go even if he has nowhere to go. Just simply being ready keeps him on his toes, and when the time comes, he'll always be ready. He leaves a couple hours in a day to practice his swordsmanship, or if he doesn't feel the need, he exercises. His cardio and whatnot to maintain his health is done generally three to four times a week.
Sleeping habits:
Sleeps on his back or rolls onto his side during the night. He doesn't move or make much noise when he sleeps.

Spoken language(s):
English and French fluently, conversational German. He can pick up on things like Italian and Spanish, but only a couple of words.
Voice:
It's terrible because Quinton Flynn's Irish accent is considered to be pretty bad? It's debatable. His voice changes from the first game vs the second game a bit. I tend to stick with his first game's voice, but when he gets angry or emotional, it gets kind of rougher like it sounds in the second game.

THE DIRTY(ISH) SECTION

Sexual preference:

Bisexual with a preference towards women. He can see himself dating a woman and/or being romantically into women more often than men. He'll form an attraction, sleep with, and even maintain strong friendships with men but doesn't see himself actively dating or being especially romantic with them (until something drastic and/or dramatic happens).
Where they fall on the D/s spectrum:
A switch, and tends to go with the flow. If his partner is more likely to top, he lets them top and vice versa. It's not to say he would let them all the time, but he just responds to aggressiveness very well. Because of this, most assume he's on the submissive side, but he'd be a little offended by that opinion.
Cup size/Penis size:
He's relatively average, so about 6-7 in when erect, normal girth.
Pubic area:
He is meticulous in his overall grooming and trimming. Wearing form-fitting clothes can get really snug, and the last thing he needs is discomfort in his pants.
Circumcised?:
No.

Underwear:
Boxer briefs. He likes the support, but not as restrictive as briefs.
Sleepwear:
Boxer briefs or in the nude.
What was their first time like?:
Awkward but interesting. They were both very young, newly wed, and she was probably more experienced than he was which is a bit alarming considering how young Sylvia was when they got married. That's just speculation, however...
Best sexual experience:
This one's hard to say. That threesome with falcon and samus is pretty up there. Nvm they can go screw themselves in hell >:U Anything involving LB and Wade so far has been awesome. He won't admit it to anyone but his encounters with Mukuro and Anna have been delightful as well. Harder BDSM is starting to become a real go-to for him here. *
Worst sexual experience: In Tanagura, it was probably with Gyro only because the guy wasn't in the right state of mind- practically brainwashed from the stress of the monster transformation. Not only was it dub-con, it also got extremely messy and sore at the end. The threesome he had with Falcon and Samus started off great but ended on a weird and sour note. Back in NMH-land, it was probably a job-related encounter which got frustrating and ended up getting verrrrrrry messy like everyone dead sort of messy.

Partner(s):
Wade and LB are currently his most frequent partners. Falcon, Samus, Mary, Violet/Lee and Rhys have also been reoccurring partners as well, but he hasn't formed any particularly strong  bonds with them unlike the first two. One-time partners make for a long list, so let's just say he kinda gets around.
Size preference:
None. Just keep it reasonable B)
Preferred method of sex:
Receiving/giving penetrative and/or oral sex is his usual thing, and he's had some experience with toys, but his kinks are few so he tends to stick to the basics. He's picked up on a couple of new stuff here in Tanagura though, and has developed a liking for light aphrodisiacs, bondage, and light/medium BDSM. Exhibitionism is also something he's slowly getting used to as well. *
Frequency:
It seems like he has sex a couple times a week?
Masturbation:
Not very often. Usually in the shower.

Favorite position:
With women and men- cowgirl, reverse cowgirl doggy-style, missionary (variations of it are good, too). While he has no particular preference between genders, he finds looking at women face-to-face to be much more enjoyable than most men. Really depends on the dude, I guess. *
Favorite place to have sex:
None in particular. Preferably someplace comfortable and private but not opposed to being adventurous.
Favorite kinks/sex acts:
Light/medium bondage or BDSM, oral (giving/receiving), anal (giving/receiving). fingering, frotting, sex while on aphro or source, and fully/semi-clothed sex.
Kinks they've tried any hated:
None so far.
Favorite toys:
he let sylvia use a strap-on on him once, and he didn't hate it. it wouldn't really be a favorite, but it's the only one he's had experience with so far. LB's tentacles were pretty damn amazing. It doesn't really count as a toy, but still... *

Sensitive areas:
Neck, ears, certain places between his fingers, and the obvious places below the belt as well.
Turn-ons:
It can start from something as light and innocent as teasing touches, soft or low rumbling whispers by his ear, to something heavier like aggressive touching, grabbing, and flirty/dirty talk. Then there are also darker moments like pain, asphyxiation, claustrophobia-inducing acts, blood-play that can also turn him on if the mood is right. These give him mixed feelings though, so they're not on the favorite kinks list. Again, very specific circumstances.
Turn-offs:
Costumes, immersive roleplaying, humiliation/degradation, pain that overwhelms pleasure or doesn't go along with it, comparing him to his brother, anime-related kinks or themes, people who aren't very responsive.
No-no places/triggers:
underage, anything involving heavy narcotics (aphrodisiacs are OK), intense asphyxiation. He's not easily triggered, but he still does carry a bit of trauma with him from nearly dying from suffocation.
Something they want to try but haven't before:
Heavier bondage, shibari, gun/knife-play... TBC
Number one fantasy:
he (still) hasn't really thought about this. Maybe a threesome that goes right this time??? squints at falcon and samus.*
After-sex habits:
Washes up, has a cigarette or a small drink, then either goes to sleep or goes to a window or sits right outside for some fresh air. If he's at someone else's place and they fall asleep before he does, he goes home quietly.

Anything else?:
He doesn't enjoy cuddling too much, especially after sex. It's too warm and uncomfortable, possibly a bit suffocating depending on how intense it was- but he's just not especially affectionate. It's not you, it's him.
Bonus:
not too much of a difference, but there's been some development!
